Since the day we went for our very first coffee meeting, Alex and Laura knew they wanted a Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge engagement session in the Rocky Mountains. Being avid curlers, you could say that winter is their season, so it only made sense to do it then. Little did we know, Mother Nature had a big surprise for us Albertans!
SNOW! Laura, Alex and I were all thrilled to finally see those snowflakes falling. For their engagement session, it added such a magical touch as if the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge isn’t on it’s own already! Along with the snow, also came some wind and -22 degree temperatures. It wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that our faces were 50 shades of purple by the end of the hour and a half.
Considering the weather, we made a plan to take a break half way through to warm up and get a fancy hot chocolate. Afterwards, we walked down to the lake to see if any mountains had decided to peak (haha, get it?) their faces out of the snowy weather and thanks to the sun, we caught just a glimpse!
We saved the best for last and ended our session at the coziest little cabin that was the perfect backdrop along with Laura’s most adored Christmas gift – her Hudson’s Bay blanket. Talk about cute! It was the perfect little Canadian set up, we were just missing toques and Tim Hortons, and maybe a moose?
Even with the crazy cold temperatures and not being able to see all of the mountains, Laura and Alex’s Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge engagement session is definitely making it’s way into my favourites.
