For me, at home lifestyle newborn sessions are something I absolutely love to do. And I mean, LOVE. If I could insert the little iPhone emoticon with hearts as eyes I would. Getting to stand back and watch as moments unfold between parents and their newest addition is, to me, extremely heartwarming.
A little over a week ago, I was welcomed into Mollie and Matt’s (ridiculously beautiful!) home for a newborn session and to meet two week old Clark. Being referred by the MacLeod family, I knew it was going to be a favourite session of mine without a doubt and that it is.
Mollie was given a stuffed toy monkey when she was younger and so her family decided that the tradition should continue with Clark. I’m sure you can tell below who’s is whose but I really liked that Mollie and Matt wanted to incorporate it into Clark’s session. It was something so small yet so important and I find little meaningful things like this make sessions that much more personal.
Mollie and Matt, I had such a great time working with you both. With all of Clark’s hilarious “questioning-your-parenting” expressions and determination to neither sleep nor bend his elbows, you two were fantastic! I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as hard during a newborn session than with you two. Trying to hold it together and not break out into hysterics in those final moments when we got Clark to sleep were so tough, haha! Thank you again for everything and I can’t gush enough about how you’ve designed your home. Wishing you all the absolute best :)
