Jon and Kristen met with a quick swipe right and as much as it may not be considered quite so romantic, after awhile of dating everyone knew something was different. They were the perfect match and after one interesting family dinner, perhaps a little more than they cared to admit.
Both from Edmonton, Kristen and Jon decided to fly a little farther south for some sunnier weather. They chose to get married at the De Anza Country Club in California, a place close to their hearts and one Kristen has made many of her favourite memories growing up.
They opted to see each other before the ceremony so they could have a more private and intimate setting, just the two of them, to share handwritten vows, genuinely connect and simply just be themselves in their wedding photos. It allowed them to relax and focus on each other as we explored the open desert, mountains and cacti filled landscape.
The connection from their first look carried them through the day to their ceremony on the 7th green where family and friends gathered in excitement. Kristen and Jon promised each other forever under the desert sun and thanks to their first look earlier in the day, they were able to join their guests in enjoying cocktail hour.
Carrying the evening on into the club house, the laughter and tears never stopped. If it wasn’t one, it was the other. Hilarious introductions, heartfelt speeches, a sneaky Smirnoff ice challenge and two ridiculous kissing games made the evening one to remember.
Kristen and Jon, I have thanked you so many times already but how could I not. I’m beyond thankful to have met the both of you in Kelowna, and even better to get to know you and hangout with you now in Edmonton too! Your ability to make those around you comfortable, laugh and feel important is like none other. Thank you for always being so down to earth, all of your generosity, kindness and everything in between. You have two amazing families and friends that felt like that of my own within a matter of hours. And finally, thank you for making my time as a California wedding photographer more than I could have ever imagined.
Feel free to add some ambiance to the images if you wish.
