“I’ll be your Eric, if you’ll be my Ariel…”. There was nothing Shandi wanted more than to get married with her toes in the sand, like the mermaid and Disney loving bride that she is. Flying in from the west coast, Shandi and Taylor’s Ocean Varadero El Patriarca wedding took place on a stunning white beach with the bluest ocean water in the background, just as they had imagined.
On the morning of the wedding, there was a constant buzz of excitement and nerves as the year and half of planning had finally led to the big day. As the moment grew closer to seeing his bride for the very first time, Taylor did all he could to hold back the tears. Shandi with her arm around the one who loved her first, walked towards Taylor and all of the morning nerves were washed away with the tide. Taylor with his grandfather’s cross and Shandi with her handmade bouquet, they shared their handwritten vows with each other and their loved ones, most which were brought to tears.
If you’ve been to Cuba, you have fallen in awe with their old cars. Shandi and Taylor too, they decided to rent three for their bridal party and wedding portraits to really bring Cuba home with them in their photos. Taking in as much of the resort as we possibly could, we made our way to the ocean and ended the evening with a Cuban sunset.
Taylor and Shandi, from your wedding to the Catamaran island adventure and everything in between it was such an honour to join you all on your week in Cuba. Getting to be your destination wedding photographer was a serious honour and I can’t wait to see where your adventures take you both. Have the best time on your honeymoon; you two absolutely deserve it!
