It wasn’t long after I launched my ‘Photography for a Year’ packages for local businesses and brands that Nicole sent me a message on Instagram. Not long after we sat down to talk about what made up her brand, who she was and what she wanted to show more of to her clients. We even got so detailed to discuss the colours that made up her brand, and explore some of her favourite Instagram accounts. From there we made a plan for each of her four branding sessions and set a date!
For her first session, we decided that branding photos at the Enjoy Centre would be our first stop. We used the background of Hole’s Greenhouses and the Glass House Bistro to give us the looks we wanted and the lifestyle photos she can use to show her clients more of who she is. The white, greenery and neutral colours were also the perfect fit to her brand. Nicole wore darker colours which again suited the look of her Instagram account for her boudoir photography (@macherieboudoir).
Ever since I started my own business as a photographer, and now growing into a brand photographer as well, I’ve believed in a strong brand presence. Why do we fall in love with certain brands? Why do people choose to follow us? I’ve loved learning more about this and now have found a passion in helping others build a strong brand – cohesive photos being one of the first steps!
Even though Nicole’s style of boudoir photography is much darker than my style of photography, on our coffee date we discussed how we could meld the two together seamlessly. The dark greenery and her clothing choices were the perfect way to balance the dark in her current feed and style to branding photos that felt like they sincerely showcased her bright, bubbly and did I mention amazing sense of humour!
