More is always better. I suggest bringing more than you think is necessary, just in case. I always suggest bringing a different outfit for each photo list idea that we create during your planning consult.
For example:
Photo set 1 – me at laptop (1 outfit)
Photo set 2 – me taking photos of clients (1 outfit)
Photo set 3 – lifestyle headshot (1 outfit)
Under each single session listed above you can also see how many outfits I recommend.
1-2 months ahead of when you’re hoping to use your images. I’m typically booked 1.5-2 months in advance throughout the entire year. After your branding session, it takes me 2 weeks to deliver your high-res and web-sized, edited images via your online gallery. For example, if today was October 1st, I would be booking for approximately November 15th. If your session was on November 15th, I would deliver your images around November 30th. If you’re a blogger or doing seasonal work, you should be planning one season ahead. For example, in October you should be working on planning your Christmas branding session.
Depending on the season, outdoors is a great option depending on the content for your branding session. If you’re needing an indoor space, I recommend one that’s bright, full of natural light (window light) and that has neutral walls so they don’t reflect a colour cast onto your skin.
If you don’t have access to a space, I will help you during our branding session planning consult to find the perfect location. We can rent an AirBNB, rent a local photography studio, rent a showhome, rent a yoga studio or you can always use a family member or friend’s home. Public spaces like coffee shops are often great options as long as the owner’s are happy to have us photograph there!
If you’re late, I will not compensate or provide extra time for your session as I book my photography sessions back to back with one hour of travel and prep time in between each and it’s not fair to my next client.
If you need more time, there have been situations where I am able to stay and continue your session however typically I suggest we book another session. This is a great example of why I always suggest putting your photo list in order of most importance which we will talk about during your planning consult.
You will receive your images approximately 2 weeks after your branding session. Your images are delivered in an online photo gallery. From the gallery you can download your images directly to your computer, phone, Dropbox or Google Drive in both high resolution and web-sized (2048px on the long edge).
More is always better when it comes to props. If you’re unsure, bring it. It’s always best to have more options than not enough. When we chat virtually for your branding planning consult, we’ll create a photo list that you will use to plan your props for your session.
My best advice: over plan. Plan out every single shot you’re hoping to get, the outfit that coordinates with it and the required props. This will keep us moving quickly on the day of, getting as many photos as possible, ensuring we don’t miss a photo and will help you to remember the props and outfits you want to bring. I also suggest bringing someone to help keep you organized so you can focus on being the model or helping me with the overall vision.
I suggest as soon as you’re able to financially. Branding photography is an investment in your business so if the end goal is to have a full time business, I would start branding photos from day one. If you’re a little unsure about your business and it’s direction, I would be realistic on the amount of time and money you can invest right now. Will having professional photos right now help your business grow? What do you want / need photos of at this point? What direction do you want your business to go?
I’m more than happy to chat and help you decide if branding photography is the right fit for you right now as well.
Yes, all of your images that I deliver in your gallery are edited similarly to the image that you see in my branding and interior photography portfolios and Instagram. No, I don’t watermark your final images.
I suggest about once every 3 months minimum, depending on the amount of content your business needs. For example, influencers and bloggers usually need different content, more often so the best package for them might be monthly. I created my yearly branding packages with different industries in mind.
